A morning to remember at Bowden Vale CC as the U11 Lions sought a victory to win Division 1 and regain the Cup.
Winning the toss Zayan took no time in electing to bowl on a hot, breezy morning. From the start is was apparent that the small boundary and solid early Bowden Vale batting would offer runs, with the score card racing to 65 after the first 10 overs. However, the Lions bowlers woke up in the second half and manage to take regular wickets limiting the opposition to 97 - a potentially challenging target!
The job in hand was clear and the Range batters started powerfully with Zeki blasting 25 off just 12 balls. However, wickets fell and the nerves were clear, but Billy managed to steady the ship and with extras flowing the Lions surpassed the target in the 12th over and celebrations began!!
Extremely proud of the entire squad and coaching team - a wonderful campaign !
On to the Lancs and South Manchester Cups!!
