Whalley Range Lawn Tennis Club
Whalley Range Lawn Tennis Club offers a friendly and welcoming environment for players of all ages and abilities. With three all-weather, floodlit courts, tennis can be enjoyed year-round—whether you are a beginner picking up a racket for the first time or an experienced player looking for competitive matches.
The club runs:
- Men's & women's team tennis in the South West Manchester Lawn Tennis League
- Mixed doubles in the North East Cheshire Winter League
- Group coaching for adults and juniors, led by LTA qualified coaches.
- Social tennis sessions, for those who prefer a more relaxed, fun atmosphere.
Our tennis members benefit from access to excellent facilities, competitive and social play, and a vibrant community that encourages participation at every level. Whether you want structured coaching, league matches, or just a casual hit with friends, Whalley Range Lawn Tennis Club is the perfect place to play.
Competitive Tennis
In summer, we have four men’s teams and two women’s teams playing in the South West Manchester Lawn Tennis League. We also compete for the Moor Lea and Garswood Cups.

In winter we have four mixed teams playing in the East Cheshire Winter Tennis League.
Our juniors also compete in local leagues.
Social Tennis
Social tennis is for all members of all abilities and is a time to get to know other members and make new friends. New members are encouraged to take part. We hold occasional fun tournaments and other social events in the summer months.
